When starting a new diet it is not a good idea to “quit cold turkey,” as major changes in your diet like this will likely lead to failure and disappointment, rather, take a step by step approach towards reaching that overarching goal.

For example, start off by seeking out healthier, low sugar, low carb products in grocery stores. Starting a new diet can be difficult, so celebrate every victory! When you reach milestones in your resolution, no matter how big or how small, pause to recognize your progress. Now, this doesn't mean you should grab a spoon and a pint of ice cream and blow all your hard work in one sitting, but a scoop of rocky road after a successful diet week won’t do any harm!

You can also reward yourself in other ways, enjoy a spa day, cozy up for a movie marathon, or make time for a nap for example. Rewards motivate us to keep going!
